André Villas Boas, erstwhile assistant to José Mourinho but last season coach at Académica, who finished 11th, has been appointed coach at FC Porto, replacing veteran Jesualdo Ferreira. He was officially presented at the club on Friday; his contract is for two seasons. He will be replaced at Académica by Jorge Costa, who leaves Olhanense.

There has already been quite a lot of movement in the coaching staff at clubs in this close season (new coaches in bold):
