União de Leiria have sacked coach José Gomes after a poor start to the season. They have brought in perennial firefighter Jorge Jesus to try to put things right.
Brazilian coach Paulo Bonamigo has arrived in Madeira to take over the reins of struggling Marítimo, who removed Rui Rodrigues from the job last week. Trainer João Abel

Historic Porto club Salgueiros, founded in 1911, have had to withdraw from participation in the 3rd division this season due to extreme financial difficulties. The club has also withdrawn from the Taça de Portugal
, so that their opponents in the first round, Monção, have been given a bye.
