Marítimo have sacked coach Rui Rodrigues, better known as 'Juca', just four games into the season proper. The team has started badly, with a mere two points to show. Former União de Leiria coach Vítor Pontes is in line to take over.

José Gomes of União de Leiria, Jaime Pacheco of Vitória de Guimarães and Norton de Matos of Vitória de Setúbal may be the next to go, the latter in a dispute with the club, the other two because of weak starts to the season.
