Cristiano Ronaldo has been fined around 11,000 euros by Manchester United for using his mobile phone during training.
Meanwhile, Valência have fined midfielder Manuel Fernandes and full back Miguel
a reported 25,000 euros each following a night out in January to celebrate Miguel's birthday. There was a disturbance at the night club they went to, and Manuel Fernandes, now at Everton, was arrested and spent the night in jail for assaulting a bouncer.

There was little movement (54 entries) in the Portuguese transfer market during the January transfer window. The Liga (top tier) now has 438 players
registered to play from 39 different nationalities. Foreigners and Brazilians make up 56.5% and 34.7% of the total number, respectively. Nineteen of the 54 incoming players are from Portuguese clubs, while 26 are from Brazil; there are now 152 Brazilian players in the Liga, around two thirds of all foreigners. There are 190 Portuguese players registered. Other nationalities include Argentina (13), Serbia (8), Angola (7), Uruguay (6), Cameroon (6) and Senegal (5)
